What am I up to?

The big news is that I’m finally working for myself! That means I can focus all of my efforts on my own software. Products like Window Clippings will no longer be limited to my very scarce spare time but instead will command my full attention.

I’ve now been working on Window Clippings 3 for almost two months and am hoping to release a beta next month. I always felt so frustrated that I couldn’t make Window Clippings everything I imagined it should be due to a complete lack of time but I am thankful that I finally have the time to do just that. My priority is to release version 3 and then work on a few other products that I hope to begin rolling out some time next year.

As for my writing, I decided to take a break to get some real-world experience with C++0x. It’s easy enough to write about the various new features. It’s something else entirely to gain the experience of using all those new features in combination and in production code. I hope to share some of that experience in due course here on my blog.

Yes! Finally! Window Clippings is good software, but too many times (especially when there’s a loading bar in the window), Window Clippings doesn’t capture the window with transparency. Looking forward to some updates!

This is great news. I can’t wait to see the new version. I hope it resolves the issue with including the taskbar in screen captures too. I’m really looking forward to the new version and wish you the best with your new ventures.
